The Kottayam branch was lead by brilliant CA professionals, who were always eager to impart and pusrsue the vision and the objectives of the leaders of ICAI and the Council. The branch always tried with vigour and enthusisasam to bring, the most updated facilities for its aspiring student community. These efforts naturaly culminated in constructing the own branch building at Kodimatha in the outskirts of the city. This was the first branch of the Institute to be inaugurated in the state of Kerala with the support of the Institute. The building was inaugurated in the year 1987, for the betterment of the profession and visualised the emerging needs for installing a good infrastructure. . This branch building was catering to the needs of the profession and students up to the year 2002.. However access to this branch building was very much limited by poor roads and adverse environmental conditions especially during the monsoon season. Though the atmosphere was excellent, management of the office from the city is also causing much inconvenience. For better administrative convenience a commercial space of about 1,000sq.ft was procured in the year 2002.

This was achieved with the whole hearted support by the members of the Kottayam branch. This space is being utilized for all the activities of the branch.

The Kottayam branch of SIRC of ICAI received active branch award in 1996 & 1999, Active SICASA branch award in 2000.
